10 Women Who Helped Me LEVEL UP in 2020

Warning: this post will show you a little groveling and self deprecation on my end. I’m just being honest:

I was a worn out mess at the end of 2019.

I was humbled by the greatest $ year of my life AND I WAS EXHAUSTED. This time last year I was also… totally panicked. How the fuxk could I ever top 2019? How could I work more hours? Reach more people? Host more workshops? Answer more texts, emails + DM’s? I physically, mentally + emotionally could not *achieve* more than I had in 2019, not in the way that I’d been doing business. I’d always thought of burnout as a problem for people who hate their jobs — that wasn’t the case for me. The ultimate truth is this: I was in a love relationship with a business (model) that required every ounce of me, sucked me dry and left me unavailable for anything but more work. I was scared that I might have to leave the relationship. I knew deep down that I needed A LOT of help to dig myself out of my mess and — shift into alignment.

Looking back on a year in which I finally asked for help
to the tune of tens of thousands in coaching
I can tell you authentically:

I know what it feels like to invest in myself and my future Self.

ALANA COOKLIN

I met Alana at a conference in TX in September 2019 and booked a rather desperate astrology reading with her in December of 2019.

Alana is responsible for telling me straight up that I needed to hire a business coach ASAP. For the solar year of 2020, she predicted an opportunity for national exposure, a change in business, a love relationship that changed my standards and a new way of attracting abundance,

hire her

SARAH ASHMAN

It’s January 2020: I’ve got my branding guru and I expect to be told that I can raise my prices and maybe cut down on the number of services I offer.

NOPE. Sarah flipped my world upside down. First and foremost she showed me where I’d hidden my greatest talent: my intuition. She then exposed the areas where I’d played small and told me to nix “Intentionally Gray” (my 2nd business) to focus on personal-development within my Styling career. I call her The Great Activator. She ignited in me a power I really, honestly, truthfully didn’t know existed. This still only skims the surface of what Sarah did for me, my life and my career (all intertwined, mind you…)

Bonus: Sarah told me to move MY ENTIRE BUSINESS online… before the pandemic hit.

hire her

TALLIA DELJOU

Throughout the first few absolutely exhausting months of 2020 shifts, this woman encouraged the hell out of me. Boasting years of online-coaching experience in her own business, Tallia helped me to understand exactly what it is that I offer in the Styling process and helped me to tease out + put into words exactly the transformation that I am able to help women create within themselves as their Stylist and intuitive guide.

hire her

VAUGHN PIERRO

The amount of SPACE HOLDING this woman is capable of is beyond description. Does she perform exorcisms to rid us of self doubt? Is it miracle working? Is it magic? It’s all of the above. Vaughn brought to surface deeply engrained fears as well as deeply engrained desires that I’d kept buried for years.

I am so grateful for her guidance, mentorship and ground-breaking releasing techniques. She helped me through some serious self-doubt and supported me dramatically after a difficult break up!

hire her

KATE ROSENOW

How do you know how to do all of this stuff — ya’ll.
Me: Kate taught me!

My website? My automated everything? My beautiful newsletters? KATE, KATE, KATE.

Seriously, ya’ll. Whew. Is it even possible to run an online empire without WORKING WELL WITH KATE? I think not. This woman helped me see Style Therapy’s potential for growth and service and influence unlike anyone else. She showed me how to cut down on the minutia and stuff, offer ONLY what feels aligned and create systems that serve my clients exponentially better than anything I could have come up with on my own. Seriously. Seriously. Hire her.

hire her

JANET RAFTIS

I raise my cup to Janet for helping, supporting and guiding me not just in 2020 but for the past several years now. Janet’s intuition and deep-healing modalities have helped me to connect with a Higher, Grander version of myself over and over again — clearing space where there was confusion, doubt and fear. I thank her for her encouragement in the great transitions I’ve made in 2020, both personally and professionally. Thank you, Janet.

hire her

JENN BAILEY STRECK

When I have needed someone to perform Reiki over ME, I visit Jenn Streck. She has helped me to clear out the 2020 jitters all year long. I am so grateful for this woman’s masterful healing.

hire her

ANDREA KENNEY

To the woman who has helped me bring more digital dreams to life than I thought possible: ANDREA KENNEY. I am so grateful for my new found assistant (thanks to Vaughn Pierro!) She is the wind beneath my wings and the sounding board for all of my wild ideas. She came on board to Style Therapy JUST in the nick of time, November 2020, right before the GGE podcast was aired. From emails to ads to simply keeping my brain from exploding… you’ve been the best decision of 2020, AK.

IMPACTFUL COURSES I ENROLLED IN WITH TWO BAD ASS BUSINESS WOMEN:

REESE EVANS

WHAT A BABE. In November I decided to gift myself an intensive training to become a stronger communicator, leader and Stylist. I am grateful for Reese’s certification process which I will be completely finished with on1/9/2021!

AMANDA FRANCES

I learned about Amanda from Kate Rosenow and have been binging her Money Mentality content ever since. Thanks to her courses, I have planted success-seeds that have brought me more abundance than I thought possible — YES, even in the year of a horrible global pandemic.

A special and grande thank you to the women that I did not HIRE

— my mother, my sister and my best friend + soul mate Indira Cruz — they listened to me howl at the moon, bitch, moan and almost give up on my dreams a handful of times in 2020. All while they had their own shit going on. Thanks for not giving up on me and thanks for cheering me on.

Thank you to Stef Jewett who truly brings out the fire in me — you know how to rile me up, sister! End of 2019 she told me again and again “you need to be in tech. you need to expand. you need to do more.” It burnt me up because I was exhausted and didn’t see a way to do any of that. But truth be told, Stef is the actual visionary behind so many incredible things that end up coming to STYLE THERAPY fruition… in my own very stubborn timing. And finally:

ASHLEY HESSELTINE

THE QUEEN HERSELF. I have known Ash for approximately my entire Atlanta-life, which is a v long time. I cannot begin to relay all that I have learned from this business woman, social strategist, philanthropy advocate and podcast host. I am… infinitely… INFINITELY grateful for Ashley’s invitation to be on Girls Gotta Eat with her business wife, Rayna Greenberg. It was by far the highlight of a very tough year. (While I didn’t hire her…) I look forward to many more years of learning from her on every level.
