STYLE THERAPY, EST 2011

I SEE EVOLUTION AS A GIFT.

2023 brings me to the twelve year mark of entrepreneurship. My work has seen many iterations since its inception. Throughout the years I have had to evaluate previously well-loved ways of being, choose what to layer on and decide what to let go of.

Below you'll see Style Therapy's timeline over the last twelve years. You'll see ebb and flow, surprises, fatigue, recognition and the decision-making points that have brought us to where we are today.

I am beyond humbled by the years we have already shared together and I thank you for being here today. It really is a dream come true to continue to serve you and honor you in all of the ways that I know how at this stage of life + love.

It was 2011 and I was twenty-three years old. The economic crisis of 2007-08 that I lived through as a college student rang loud in my ears. All I wanted was job security. Ha! But while talking to women at these trunk shows… I started feeling little nudges. I spoke with a lot of women in those first few months and quickly became one of the leading sales reps in our region. (I want this customizable necklace this year, btw.)

Something was changing, my desire for the medical field started to fade. After a ton of prayer and contemplation, I abandoned my plan to go to nursing school.

And I dove head first into working with women in a completely unanticipated way.

I also worked part time at lululemon, got fired from lululemon (2012-13), started teaching fitness (2014), and began presenting Style-Centered Goal Setting and Vision Board workshops to women's clubs, mothers' groups and start ups. Eventually, word caught on. I started speaking to companies like General Electric, Delta and Knoll. I loved teaching!

For eight years I drove all. over. the Southeast. And received women visiting Atlanta in my West Midtown apartment or at their hotels. I wrote educational style blogs for online publications. I shopped until malls closed at 10pm. I carried around thousands of dollars of merchandise and put in miles upon miles walking through shopping centers every week – hence my early adaptation of athleisure. I couldn't survive in heels! I picked out gifts for husbands, helped recent college grads get styled for the workplace and facilitated shopping sprees for my recently divorced gals, too. — I loved it.

Having completed 12 weeks of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and worked through a Sensory Based Movement certification, I decided to start a mindfulness x movement company in 2018. On top of teaching spin multiple times per week. I was getting recognized right and left. And I was tired. I do not recommend layering on additional responsibilities when you are that tired. Those of you knew me then remember that I always had an iced coffee in hand. Always.

TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS IN A ROW I WON
“BEST STYLIST IN ATLANTA”

I was an ambassador for local businesses and major fitness brands in addition to lululemon. I found myself wondering how I could continue doing everything that I loved and also… loosen my grip on it all.

In 2019, an opportunity arose at the perfect time: I learned about a new-to-me platform that would allow me to serve all of the women I worked with from out of town, virtually. They loved it. I did, too.

In January 2020 I became a certified Reiki Master.

The pandemic helped me gather myself after nine years of nonstop action. The “downtime” gave me the chance to take everything I loved so dearly – clothes, jewelry, self-inquiry, look books, workshop-style teaching, journaling, mindfulness, closet cleanses, mental cleanses (!) and educating women on how to approach life and style with more ease – and actually make it work under one umbrella.

Not shrink it, not throw it away but shift it… and expand it.

SINCE BRINGING MY BUSINESS ONLINE ENTIRELY –

2020: I was featured on a globally celebrated podcast.

Since December 2020: 680 contracts have been signed for 1:1 life + style coaching.

2021: I was named one of Atlanta's Wonder Women by Best Self Magazine.
I completed certifications in Life Coaching, EFT, NLP and later, meditation teacher training.

2022: I received a mention in The New York Times.

2023: The Energetics of Style was born – over 100 enrolled.

TWELVE YEARS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP HAS
NOT BEEN A WALK IN THE PARK.

The path has not been perfect or perfectly glossy. As it turns out, I am not an energizer bunny – I do actually believe that wise people rest. I ran on fumes for a long time and I am so passionate about women and their rest today. I lost friends and connections as I grew. That was supremely difficult to shoulder. There were plenty of women who were thrilled with the online model that began in late 2019. And there were beloved clients of many years who were unhappy with my decision to end my in-person service. That was so very challenging to hold.

THE LOVE THE STAYED THE SAME. THE DELIVERY CHANGED.

WE ARE MEANT TO EVOLVE.

Combining all of my loves to offer tools for expansion, connection, self-expression and ease has been the most rewarding work. I am so proud of it. And I am so. damn. proud. of you who choose to engage with the work. The evolution process often requires that we look at what we love and look at where we need to grow and… shift. I cannot wait to share with you my plans for 2024… you're going to love it.
